Christmas Period Collections (Redditch)
If your dustbin is normally emptied on a Thursday (Christmas Day or New Years Day), arrangements are "allreddi" in place to collect, empty and recycle these on Saturday 27th December 2008 and again on Saturday 3rd January 2009.
So don't forget to put them out..!!
Most of us (especially at this time of year?) will end up having additional waste, which undoubtedly puts a strain on our poor dustbin and collections (grey and green bins), especially now - as they only get emptied every other week..!! There is an alternative to overfilling your bin, which is quite simply to take a trip to your local Household Waste Site.
Much of the waste that is now collected by the local council will be sorted into rubbish that will either go into landfill, or items that may/can be recycled.

Items that can be r-ecycled (or deposited) at many of the local Household Waste Site's (tips?) including the one at Park Farm in Redditch - include:
Asbestos, Automotive Batteries (cars, vans, motorcycles etc), Cardboard, Chemicals, Fluorescent tubes (bulbs), Food and Drink cans, Freezers and Fridges, Gas Bottles, Glass Bottles and Jars, Green Waste, Household Batteries, Mobile Phones, Monitors, Paper, Plastic Bottles, Printer Cartridges, Scrap Metals, Shoes (footwear), Textiles (material, cloth etc), TV's, Video Recorders (& other electrical items), Waste for landfill, Wood and Timber. |
